All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Elsie McKinney Mrs. Elsie Irene McKinney, 88, of Hosston, died Friday, March 5, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. A native of Rayne, she had lived in Hosston 60 years, and was a charter member of the United Methodist Church of Hosston, and a life member of the United Methodist Women. The funeral was at 2 p.m., Monday, at McGuire Funeral Home Chapel of Vivian. The Rev. Paul Carter, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Hosston, and the Rev. Earl Roderick, pastor of Hosston Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Mrs. McKinney's survivors include a son, Lamar McKinney of Hosston; two daughters, Mrs. W. R. Faith of Shreveport, and Mrs. Harmon Austin of Coushatta; two sisters, Mrs. Dollie May of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Ruth George of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a brother, Sam Hoffpauir of Fair Oaks, Calif.; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Hugh B. McKinney, Marvin McKinney Jr., Ralph Penuell, J. W. Brown, Virgil Martin, James R. Lee, J. B. McElwee, and Ben Haygood.
