A native of Mena, Ark., he had lived in Shreveport 57 years. He was a retired shop foreman for Hica Corp., and a member of the Cedar Church, and the Cedar Grove Masonic Lodge. The funeral was held Thursday at 2:30 p.m., in the Southside Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Felder, pastor of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucille Guy McGowan of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Janice Bickham of Hazel Crest, Ill., and Mrs. Beverly White of Dallas, Tex.; a brother, Marion McGowan of Zwolle; and five grandchildren.
