S. C. and Fannie Lou Self. She attended elementary school in Hornbeck. Mary was one of 10 students who graduated in the first class of the young sawmill town, Peason. She received a four year degree in 1925, from Louisiana College in Pineville. She married Andrew McKinny, and was a resident of Orange, Tex. For more than 60 years. She was a retired teacher, after teaching 37 years in the schools of Orange County. Mary served as Bible Teacher in Sunday School for many years, and was also active in W.M.U. She was an active telephone caller for shut-ins, and the Priscilla Sunday School Class of which she was a member. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Jo Journeay of Orange, Pat L. Reel of Commerce, and Ann Odell of Beaumont; sisters, Midge Nelson of DeRidder, Opal McKinny of Orange, Jo Weldon of Shreveport, and Janice Self of Fred; one brother, John D. Self of Fred; 10 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
