McComic, 62, of Shreveport, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, in the Willis-Knighton Hospital, at 9 a.m., after a sudden illness. Funeral services were conducted by Horace Hampton of Southern Avenue Church of Christ of Shreveport, at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 29, in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Burial was in Forest Park West, with Masonic graveside rites. Assisting was A. J. Arnold of Lakeshore Church of Christ. Mr. McComic was an employee of Libbey Owens Ford Co. for 45 years. He was a member of the Lakeshore Church of Christ, and Queensborough Masonic Lodge. He was a native of Sabine Parish, and had lived in Shreveport since 1925. Survivors include his wife, his father, W. T. McComic of Many; two daughters, Mrs. Richard C. Fanning of Shreveport, and Mrs. Charles L. Knox of Richland, Mich. one brother, G. L. McComic of Alvin, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. H. P. Camden of Many, and Mrs. L. L. Smith of Baton Rouge, and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were A. D. Martin, Allen Roy Vestal, H. Alford, Charles Cain, Johnny Poston, Ralph Endsly, Jr., Kenneth McComic, and Carl Laffitte. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Fincher, Dr. R. E. Braswell, and former employees of Libby Owens Ford Glass Co.
