All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Eloise Martin Magness Services for Mrs. Eloise Martin Magness, 78, of Converse, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 5, at the Midway Baptist Church in Converse, with the Rev. William Campbell officiating. Burial was held at Sardis Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel. The family received friends at the funeral home after 4 p.m., on Saturday. Mrs. Magness died Thursday, July 2, at the HCA Highland Hospital in Shreveport. She was born in Columbia, La., and was a former resident of Orange, Texas. She had resided in Converse since 1980. She graduated from the Southern Baptist School of Nursing in New Orleans in 1936, and served in the US Army Corps of Nurses during World War II. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Willie C. Magness of Converse; one son, John Clifton Magness of Friendswood, Texas; one niece, Mrs. Georgia Shelby of Alvarado, Texas. Pallbearers were John Tatum, Charles Shelby, William Magness, John Adamo, Paul Adamo, and Steve Snow.
