Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 28, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Many Cemetery. Dr. Ed Scott officiated. Mrs. Massingill worked at the Tax Assessor's Office, and at Kenwin Dept. Store. She was a member of Eastern Star for 60 plus years. She served for over 25 years as secretary of the Eastern Star, and was past matron. She was a longtime member of the Many Book Club. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Essie Massingill of Troup, Texas; two grandchildren, Clifton R. Massingill of Kilgore, Texas, and Jan Lyne Shaw of Troupe, Texas; two nieces, Cynthia Nowlin of Kilgore, Texas. And Nita Bean of Texas; and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Massingill was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton L. Massingill; sister, Willis Murel Goolsbee; and son, John L. Massingill. Pallbearers were Kenneth Dew., Robby Lang, Jim Brown, Jim House, Robert Dale Geoghagen, and Jerry Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Abington, and W. E. "Boots" Hayes. Warren Meadows, Many, La.
