McMillian 9 Feb 1940 - Funeral services were held at Pisgah Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. for Blewford B. (Uncle Bluff) McMillian, age 84 years, two months and 14 days, who died Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Byrd of Florien. Rev. Henry Chance conducted the services, assisted by Rev. C. W. Williams of First Baptist church, Many. The Dennis-Green funeral home had charge of arrangements. Mr. McMillian was one of Sabine's pioneer citizens. He was born in Burnt Corn, Alabama, moving to Toro with his parents when Sabine parish was first being settled. Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. N. A. Miller of Florien and Mrs. Joseph Byrd of Florien. He is also survived by his step-mother, Mrs. Susan McMillian who was 99 years old Nov. 11 1939; one brother Dick McMillian of Toro and two half-brothers L. L. McMillian and Will McMillian, all of Toro; nine grandchildren, Mrs. J. A. Key, of Many, Mrs. Ray Duncan of Little Rock, Ark., Osborn Miller of Many, Milldred Byrd of Barksdale Field, Sylvian Byrd of Camp Beauregard, Carre Byrd of Florien, Eloise Arthur and Aaron McMillian of Toro; one great great grandson, Ray Dunegan, Jr., Little Rock, Ark. Active pallbearers were: Robt. Jackson, A. G. Dees, Leon Law, James Phares, Asa Skinner and Buddie Knippers. Honorary pallbearers: Monroe Skinner, Crit Lewing, C. A. Horn, Dr. Conerly, Edward Oxley and S. F. Owens.
