All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Gertrude Curtis McMillan Mrs. Gertrude Curtis McMillan of Hornbeck, died Friday, March 18, 1983, at 12:45 p.m., at Fraser Hospital South in Many. She was 79. Mrs. McMillan expired after a short illness. She is survived by two sons, Asa McMillan, Pulaski, Tenn., Wayman McMillan, Shreveport; two daughters, Lena Chevez, Leesville, Helen Fuller, Beaumont, Tex.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Cabra, Hornbeck. Mrs. McMillan was blessed with many, many honorary grandchildren. She was called "Granny Mac" by adults and youth alike. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be directed to First Baptist Church of Hornbeck. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Andrew R. McMillan. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hornbeck. Funeral services for Mrs. McMillan were held Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Hornbeck. Burial was held at Beckom Cemetery, with Bro. Roy Dowden, and Bro. C. H. Welch officiating. Arrangements were made by Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
