All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Arthur McCartney Funeral services were conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 8901 Mansfield Road, for Mr. Arthur McCartney, 82, of Shreveport, at 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 7. The Rev. Wayne DuBose of Summer Grove Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was at Centuries Memorial Park. Mr. McCartney entered into rest Friday morning, January 4, 1985, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. He was born in Marthaville, La., and had been a resident of the Shreveport area for 45 years. Mr. McCartney, a civil engineer, was a retired civil service employee. He was a member of Willow Point Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, and member of Cedar Grove Masonic Lodge No. 403, a member of the Scottish Rite, El Karubah Shrine Temple, and Mithra Grotto. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florida McCartney, and one son, Mike McCartney of Shreveport; two brothers, Lamar McCartney of Port Arthur, Texas, and Flem McCartney of Converse, La.; one grandson, Michael C. McCartney; one granddaughter, Heather McCartney of Shreveport. Pallbearers were W. A. Meridith, Milton Cameron, George Fincher, R. T. Webb, Bill Davis, Frank Van Alsyne.
