(Tanner) McCartney, 76, of Marthaville, died March 14, in a Many hospital, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Marthaville, March 15, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Douglas Burnley, and the Rev. Cecil Salley officiating. Burial was in the Marthaville Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Surviving relatives include his widow, Lertie Massey McCartney of Marthaville; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Lang of Many, Mrs. Vories Bridges of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Angie Carroll of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Youngblood of Marthaville, Mrs. Lee Nabours of Zwolle, and Mrs. Corrine Pearson of Shreveport; three brothers, J. A. McCartney of Marthaville, Dr. G. L. McCartney, and K. W. McCartney, both of Atlanta, Ga.; and ten grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy Bridges, Dudley Lang, Robby Lang, and Charles McCartney.
