He was a native of Sabine parish, and was born in Fisher. He served as a minister for a number of years. McCormick is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary McCormick of Jacinto City; three sons, Thomas J. McCormick of Carthage, Tex., R. D. McCormick of Houston and Stanley McCormick of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Stewart of Mansfield, Mrs. Beatrice Carter of Forest Hill, Mrs. Fannie Hodnett of Houma, and Mrs. Edna Clark of Brownsville, Tex.; one brother, John L. McCormick of Cleveland, Tex; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Union Baptist Church of Florien. Rev. C. V. Chance and Rev. O. L. Belcher officiated. Burial was in the Florien Cemetery under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
