P. McCormick of Zwolle, were held Monday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Zwolle. The pastor, the Rev. M. L. Boland, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Wm. T. Hall Jr., pastor of the Zwolle First Methodist Church, and the Rev. Walter S. Haley, pastor of the Dawndale Baptist Church in Beaumont, Tex. Miss McCormick, popular and talented 17 year old Zwolle High School senior, was killed instantly Saturday, at 11:00 p.m., in an automobile accident, which occurred on the new Grand Ecore bridge over Red River near Natchitoches. An estimated one thousand people attended the funeral of the beautiful and beloved teenage girl, who, in the words of her pastor, "meant so much to so many!" Daisy Claire, a descendant of one of the most prominent and respected pioneer families of Sabine Parish, was a member of the Zwolle First Baptist Church. She did solo work with choir, and took an active part in the work of other organizations of the church. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. P. McCormick of Zwolle; her grandmother, Mrs. W. F. Haley of Belmont; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Tommy Graves, Johnny Maddox, Kenneth Wright, Kenneth Earl Leone, Marion Thames, Jerry Scarber, Ronald Hough, and Clyde Guilry. Interment was in the Zwolle Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Funeral Home of Many.
