Jessie Matthews

  Funeral services for Jessie Matthews of Florien, were held
Friday, April 29, 1983, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church,
with burial following at Middle Creek Cemetery. Bros. Rudolph
Hennigan, and Hoyt Gandy officiated. Services were under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Serving as pallbearers were Sherman Weldon, Don Walker, Jimmy
Rutherford, J. D. Cox, Ralph Matthews, and Audie Wilson.

  Mr. Matthews died Thursday, April 28, at the Beauregard Memorial
Hospital in DeRidder. He was 80 years of age.

  He is survived by one brother, Luther Matthews of Jena, La.; one
sister, Ida Weldon of Florien; and several nieces and nephews.
