Mrs. Sallie Mitchell

  Mrs. Sallie Mitchell, 79, of Rt. 3, Florien, passed away in Merryville
General Hospital on June 6. A native of Vernon Parish, she had resided
for the past several years in this community.

  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bobby McCullough, and Rev. Jim
Owens, in Pine Hill Baptist Church, June 8. Interment was in Pine Hill
Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.

  Survivors include four sons; Arthur Mitchell, Merryville; Ottis
Mitchell, Kenner; Raymond Mitchell, Midland, Tex.; and Woodrow Mitchell,
Anacoco; and one daughter, Gladys Prewitt of Toro.

  Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ocie Fountain, and Mrs. Odie
James of Leesville, and Mrs. Jessie Lea Allison of DeRidder, 15
grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were nephews.
