Arvel Mitchell

  Arvel Mitchell, age 59, of Many, died in Shreveport on Tuesday,
Nov. 4, at 1:50 a.m., from an extended illness.

  Funeral services were held on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m., in
the Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Brent Fleming, and the
Rev. Clarence Berley officiating.

  Burial was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of
Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Mitchell of Many; a
son, Donald Mitchell of Natchitoches; one daughter, Mrs. Betty
Payne of Greenville, S. C.; four brothers, Louis, Arlie, Odie,
and Wilford, all of Many; three sisters, Jennie V. Knippers, Mae
Leggett, and Etta Brumley, and five grandchildren.
