Thomas E. Mitchell

  Mr. Thomas E. Mitchell, 77, of Hornbeck, died Saturday, April
24, at 7:15 a.m., after a short illness.

  His body was taken to the Prewitts Chapel Church, Sunday, April
25, to lie in state until service time, at 4 p.m.

  Funeral serices were held at the Prewitts Chapel Church Sunday,
April 25, with the Rev. Robert L. Ratham, and the Rev. Richard
Gillespie officiating. Burial was in the Prewitts Chapel
Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Mattie Mitchell of
Hornbeck; three sons, Thomas E. Mitchell Jr. of Pasadena, Rev.
Robert Mitchell, and Earl Mitchell, both of Houston; three
daughters, Mrs. Rose Masters, Hornbeck, Mrs. Jackie Morris, and
Mrs. Sallie Hall, both of Houston; one brother, Haywood Mitchell
of Hornbeck; 18 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
