Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Frances Mitchell of Robeline; four sons, Quinton Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, Alton Mitchell, and Alva Mitchell, all of Robeline; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Harrison of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Geneva Elliott of Shreveport, and Mrs. Kerry Freeman of Robeline; one step daughter, Belinda Horn Shaw of Blanchard; one step son, Dewayne Horn of Robeline; four brothers, Joe Mitchell of Many, and Crawford Mitchell, Eugene Mitchell, and James I. Mitchell, all of Robeline; four sisters, Mrs. J. N. DeVoltz, and Mrs. Leroy Delino, both of Abbeville; Mrs. Marie Beason of Many, and Mrs. J. C. Blackwell of Homer. Funeral services were held at the Central Baptist Church on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Leroy James, and the Rev. Junior Mitchell officiated. Burial was in the Robeline Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
