Oct. 5, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel, officiated by Rev. Leo Beck, former pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, and Rev. E. J. Martin, pastor of Trinity. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Montgomery. Born at Montgomery, Mrs. Durham was a 13 year resident of Shreveport, member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and Henderson Sunday School. She died Sat., Oct. 2, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center, after a short illness. Survivors include her husband, J. C. Mitchell, Shreveport; two sons, Harold Mitchell, Converse, James Mitchell, Elm Grove; three daughters, Natalie Wilson, Sterlington, Nelda Matassa, Blanchard, Dee Palmer, Shreveport; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Vernon Pringle, Audrey Marsh, Bill Simmons, Victor Clark, Shelton Wiggins, and Earl Riddle.
