Mitchell, 76, of Many, died at his residence at 3:35 p.m., on Aug. 28, 1985. Services were held in the Warren Baptist Church on Friday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m. Rev. Elton Mitchell, Rev. Wilbert Leach, Sr., and Rev. Bud McCullough officiated the ceremony. Burial was in the Warren Cemetery. Leaving to mourn his passing, a loving wife, Mrs. Lois Collins Mitchell of Many; three sons and daughters-in-law, E. J. and Theda Mitchell of Mansfield, Elton and Patricia Mitchell of Benton, William and Nancy Mitchell of Nashville, Tenn.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Langton of Florien, Barbara Lavonne and David Merryman of Shreveport, Linda Montrose and the late J. M. Montrose of Alexandria, and Velora and Ronnie Guess of Hornbeck; one brother and sister-in-law, E. Williard and Pinkye Mitchell of Many; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Della and Phillup Hanson of Bossier City, and Edna Anderson of Shreveport; two brothers-in-law, J. P. Jackson of Shreveport, and Rubin Dees of Smackover, Ark., mother-in-law, Mrs. J. C. Collins of Kilgore, Tex.; 25 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers included Stan Speight, Elwin Mitchell, Tim Montrose, Todd Langton, Tony Langton, Craig Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell, and Clint Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers included some of his other grandsons, Michael Speight, Chad Guess, Jonathan Mitchell, Curtis Mitchell, James Mitchell, and David Montrose. Mr. Arvel W. C. Mitchell is preceded in death by his two grandsons, the late Ronnie and Tommy T. Langton. Services were under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
