  Mrs. Ruthie Mitchell - December 13, 1973

  Mrs. Ruthie Mitchell, 56, of Pineland, Tex., died in Houston, on
Sunday, Dec. 9, at 8:45 p.m. following an extended illness.

  Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Arlon Mitchell of
Pineland, Tex.; two sons, R. J. Holt of Pasadena, Tex., and
Willie Holt of Pineland, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Wanda
Tomlinson of Houston, Mrs. Mattie DuBose of Orange, Tex.; and
Mrs. Betty Alvarez of Lufkin; her mother, Mrs. Mae Evans of
Gladewater; four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Lee Monta of Beaumont, Ms.
Bernice Bowman of Gladewater, Mrs. Myrtle Speight of Bronson,
Tex., and Mrs. Eva Tate of Pineland, Tex.; nine grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at the Clearwater Baptist Church on
Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. C. Pierce
officiating. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery.
