Mr. Gene Wilson Mitchell

  Funeral services for Mr. Gene Wilson Mitchell, 55, of Florien,
were held at 4 p.m., September 15, 1995, at Fisher Baptist
Church.

  Rev. Travis McCullough, and Rev. Brooks Coburn officiated.
Interment was in Pine Knott Cemetery, under the direction of
Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.

  Mr. Mitchell was born May 4, 1940, in Fisher, to Wilson and
Irene Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell married Ella Whorton on June 16,
1967, in Hemphill, Texas.

  Survivors are his widow, Ella W. Mitchell of Florien; five
children, Wendy and husband Gary Mitchell of Fort Jesup, Mertice
and husband Tommy Hershberger of Fisher, James Andrew Beason and
wife Joy of Florien, Earnest Mitchell and wife Crystal of Many,
Dewayne Mitchell of Port Arthur, Texas; six sisters, Maxine
McGuire of Many, Ola Mae Mills of Shreveport, Pauline Willis of
Hemphill, Texas, Minnie Ritchie of Many, Marie Lester of Zwolle,
Judy Sanders of Zwolle; four brothers, Ray Mitchell of Florien,
Bobby Mitchell of Many, Garland Mitchell of Fisher, Carroll
Mitchell of Fisher; 13 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and
nephews, and special nephew, Andy Willis.
