Mitchell, 74, were held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Prewitts Chapel Cemetery, with military honors by the Disabled American Veterans, Sabine Chapter #21 of Many. Mr. Mitchell died on Dec. 5, at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville. He was a heavy equipment operator, and a veteran of WWII. He was a native of Hornbeck. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Mitchell. Survivors are three brothers, Henry H. Jr., and Jerry Mitchell of Hornbeck, and Harold Mitchell of Anacoco; four sisters, Lois Yates, and Delenith Monk of Anacoco, Judie West of Splendora, Tex., and Johnnie Spears of Crosby, Tex.; eight nieces; and eight nephews.
