All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** William "Arlie" Mitchell Funeral services for William "Arlie" Mitchell, 87, of Many, were held Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at Friendship Church of the Nazarene, at 2 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Daniel Mappus. Interment was at Friendship Cemetery, under the direction of Les Fontaine Funeral Home. Mr. Mitchell died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1996, at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. He was born in Fisher, March 26, 1909, to Sam and Delie Mitchell. He was a lifelong resident of Sabine Parish, and a retired carpenter. He was a member of Friendship Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdalene Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell is survived by two daughters, Lois Remedies of Robeline, and Joyce Rains of Many; one son, W. A. Mitchell of Robeline; one sister, Jenny V. Knippers of Hornbeck; two brothers, Wilford Mitchell, and Oda Mitchell of Many; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers were David Lester, Tim Leone, Delbert Cook, Lee Mitchell, Joe Dewayne Henry, and Roy Mitchell.
