Mrs. J. L. Mitchell

  Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, for Mrs. J. L.
Mitchell, 67, of Marthaville, who died in Shreveport Friday,
after a lengthy Illness.

  The services were held in the Marthaville Methodist Church, with
the Rev. Willie Prothro officiating. Burial was in the
Marthaville Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home
of Many.

  Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ernest Mitchell of
Natchitoches, Ray Mitchell, and Roy Mitchell of Shreveport; seven
daughters, Mrs. Woodrow Berry, Mrs. Ovie Oquine, Mrs. W. E. Laun,
and Mrs. Rufus Barnhill of Shreveport, Mrs. Elsie Lee Smith of
Crowley, Mrs. Don Barnhill, and Mrs. Harold Barnhill of Many; one
brother, Leslie Ferguson of Marthaville; five sisters, Mrs.
Curtis Downs of Bay City, Tex., Mrs. Ed Williams, Mrs. Claude
Durr, Mrs. H. O. Blue, and Mrs. Joe Barnett of Shreveport; 29
grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
