All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** James Middleton, Jr. James Monroe Middleton, Jr., 78, a Sabine Parish native, died suddenly in his home in Carthage, Tex., on Thursday, Sept. 30. Middleton was the son of the late Dr. J. M. Middleton Sr., and the late Berthia Smith Middleton, both of Many. Survivors include his widow, Elva Wooten Middleton; four daughters; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-mother, Mrs. Olive Middleton of Many; four sisters, Lilburne Truluck of Arcadia, Leella, and Ruth Middleton, both of Many, and Elizabeth Ginn of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Charles Middleton of Baton Rouge; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage on Friday, Oct. 1. The Rev. Jim Rhodes, and the Rev. Robert D. Griffin officiated. Interment was in the Carthage City Cemetery. "Jim" was a former resident of Many, and had a host of friends from his childhood days in the area.
