All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Marie Smith Middleton Services for Mrs. Marie Smith Middleton, 73, of Marthaville, were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, at Bethany Baptist Church in Marthaville. Officiating was Rev. Sammy Giddens, assisted by Rev. Ray Dyess. Burial, with Eastern Star graveside rites, were at Marthaville Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield. Mrs. Middleton died Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital. She was a retired owner and operator of Middleton's Grocery in Marthaville, for over 30 years. She was a charter member of the Marthaville Order of Eastern Star #223, and was currently a member of the Natchitoches Order of the Eastern Star #13. Mrs. Middleton was a member of the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thurman Middleton; and one son, Randall Middleton. Survivors include three daughters, Billie Ann Pierce of Marthaville, Shirley Hennigan of Marthaville, Pam Dyes of Robeline; one sister, Billie Jean Warren of Shreveport; six grandchildren, Jim, and Richard Prudhomme, Glen Pierce, Leah Ann Hennigan, Angela Hennigan, and Dean Dyes. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Moore, Reginald Moore, Tommy Moore, Arden Settle, Hoyt Birdwell, and Floyd Glover.
