Mrs. Mabel Lee Van Meter

  Mrs. Mabel Lee Van Meter, 67, of Marthaville, died at 8:42 p.m.,
Thursday, Feb. 9, 1984, in the Natchitoches Parish Hospital,
after a lengthy illness.

  Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m., at the
Jennings Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Marthaville,
with the Rev. Edwin Fenton officiating. Burial followed in the
Bethany Cemetery, under the direction of T. J. Drewett Funeral
Home of Mansfield.

  She is survived by two sons, William N. Free of Marthaville, and
David F. Free of Tyler, Tex.; one daughter, Mary Ann Weeks of
Marthaville; three sisters, Eunice Fowler of Bastrop, La., Irene
Porter of Oak Grove, La., and Arlene Seratt of Ft. Smith, Ark.;
and three grandchildren.
