Moyle, First Counselor to the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon), died in his sleep on Wednesday, September 18, on a church operated ranch at Deer Park near Orlando, Florida. The 74 year old church official had been in Florida since Sunday, on business. President Moyle, Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, and Bachelor of Arts in General Studies, both from the University of Utah, Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Chicago, student of geology at the world famous mining school in Freiburg, Germany, and student of law at Harvard University, led a diversified career of distinguished service to his state, and to his church, and his influence was felt on a world wide scale. For eleven years, Elder Moyle traveled throughout the church, assisting in setting up and making strong the welfare program. Then he was called as a member of the Council of the Twelve. For the next twelve years, he traveled world wide throughout the church, giving council where it was needed, and assisting in the Missionary Program. Underlying his success in his many fields of endeavor has been his first consideration, always the furthering of the church here in the earth. Elder Moyle was chosen as a member of the Presidency of the church on June 12, 1959. His was a life spent in service to his fellow man, and obedience to God's laws and ordinances.
