He was a retired logger. Funeral services were held in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Hineston, with the Rev. Leon Poe officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fred Monk. Burial was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Survivors are his widow; three sons, Henry Meylian of the U. S. Army in Germany, Gerald R. Meylian of the U. S. Navy in Newark, Va., and John Meylian of Hineston; five daughters, Miss Mary Meylian, Miss Terry Meylian, and Miss Naomi Meylian, all of Hineston, Mrs. Loyce Rollins of Glenmora, and Mrs. Maxine Humbles of Pineville; one stepson, Elzie Monroe of Hineston; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Lois Spears of Alaska, two brothers, Otis Meylian, and J. B. Meylian, both of Hineston, six sisters, Mrs. Agnes Smith, Mrs. Minerva Robinson, and Mrs. Martha Goodwin, all of LaCamp, Mrs. Lucy Wells of Hineston, Mrs. Mary Goleman of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Mandy Goleman of Hinston, and 13 grandchildren.
