All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Gene Austin Miller 1 Mar 1963 - Funeral services for Gene Austin Miller, 34, who, was killed in an explosion at the Texeco Refinery at Port Arthur, Texas was held at 10 o'clock Saturday, February 23, 1963 - in the First Baptist Church in Bridge City, Texas with interment in the Bridge City Cemetery with Claybar Funeral Home of Orange, Texas in charge. The explosion occurred in one of the world's largest catalytic cracking unites Wednesday, February 13, 1963 where he had been employed for seventeen years. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arvil D. Miller of Florien, Louisiana, was a graduate of Florien High School and was widely known in this area where he had many friends, and relatives. He is survived by his widow, three sons, Mike 12, Randy 5, and Kenneth 3, also by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Arvil D. Miller of Florien, one brother Bernard B. Miller who is with the U.S.A.T. Auditor General Squadron stationed in Tokyo, Japan and a sister, Mrs. Jimmy Humphries of Arlington, Texas.
