Through the long months, she watched her son slowly dying, then was shocked by thr brutal unexpectedness of her husband's death. Randy Miller had many trips to the Houston hospital during his illness, his last stay starting Feb. 2. Mrs. Miller has two other sons, Mike and Kenneth. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist church of Bride City, with the Rev. C. Bullard Jones, pastor officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial gardens, under the direction of Claybar Funeral home of Orange. Survivors besides Mrs. Miller and two broth4ers, are grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil D. Miller and Mrs. Jesse Davis, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Mary Persnell, all of Florien. On Nov. 13, 1962 - three months before Mr. Miller died, the child had been given a combined birthday and Christmas party in the hospital because doctors had feared he would not live until Christmas. However, he showed slight improvement, but the Millers knew it would only be a matter of time, since a cure for leukemia still has not been discovered. Mrs. Miller was with the boy at the Houston hospital Feb. 13 when Mr. Miller was killed in the accident. She did not learn of her husband's death until her return home later that day.
