D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, following a long illness. A native of Many, Miller had lived in Port Arthur since 1940. He retired from Gulf Oil in January 1976, after 36 years services in the Instrument Department. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 18, at 3 p.m., in the Clayton-Thomas Highway 73 Chapel. Bishop A. M. Wagley Jr. officiated. Burial was in Natchitoches. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Abbie Miller of Port Arthur; two sons, Wayne Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Wade Miller of Groves, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Lynne Putnam of Port Neches, Tex.; four brothers, Raymond Miller of Kirbyville, Tex., Alvin Miller of Shreveport, Merlin Miller of Natchitoches, and Oren Miller of Nederland, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Gandy of Orange, Tex., Mrs. Malva Hardy of Many, and Mrs. Mettie Cobb of Lake Charles; and four grandchildren, Debra, and Dana Miller of Austin, Miss Mieke Putnam of Port Neches, and Clayton Miller of Groves. Serving as pallbearers were Glen Dowden, Winston Miller, Kenneth Craig, Harmon Craig, Michael Montgomery, and Donald Bird.
