Miller, 63, of Florien, died in Shreveport, on Saturday, July 23, at 9:20 p.m., following an extended illness. Miller is survived by his widow, Mrs. Velma Miller of Florien; two sons, Billy L. Miller of Florien, and the Rev. James H. Miller of Spearsville; and four grandchildren. A retired building contractor in the area, Miller has built many well known businesses and churches in the parish. He was an active civic leader in Florien, and a deacon of the Ebenezer Baptist church. Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Monday, July 25, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Fred Cory, and the Rev. J. P. King officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Herman McConathy, Leon Jordan, B. F. Miller, Ernest Bush, Billy Jordan, and Jack Canterbury. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of the Ebenezer Church.
