Miller of Florien, were held Tuesday, April 21, at 2 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of Hornbeck. The Rev. T. J. Crosby, and the Rev. Kenneth Boggs officiated. Burial was in the Florien Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Herman Wilson, Billy Ray Evans, Sid Presley, Wilbur Wilson, Roger McDaniel, and Hyman Self. Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Hays, Wayne Jones, Roger Whatley, Billy McGraw, Tommy Ellis, and Bryan Poston Sr., all deacons in the Hornbeck First Baptist Church. Mr. Miller died at Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, at 11:15 a.m., on Sunday, April 19, after an extended illness. He was 76. A native of the Toro community, Mr. Miller was a retired postmaster, and businessman. A graduate of Hornbeck High School, he also graduated from Draughon's Business college of Shreveport. Mr. Miller was a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Hornbeck. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Imer Miller of Florien; one son, Bobby D. Miller of Shreveport; one daughter, Barbara Jean McDaniel of Shreveport; three brothers, Lee Miller of Maryland, Watson Miller of San Antonio, Tex., and Paul Miller of Lake Charles; three sisters, Elta Miller of Florien, Beadie Moore of Dallas, Tex., and Wylodean Brewster of Jennings; and three grandchildren.
