All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Chester Miller Chester Miller, 71, died at 4 a.m., Thursday, April 1, in Malone Hogan Hospital, Big Spring, Tex., following a long illness. He was born Oct. 12, 1910, in Negreet. His parents were the late George W. and Maggie E. Miller. In 1928, Chester graduated from Negreet High School. He married Josie Salter, March 2, 1929, in Pelican,. La. Later they went to Texas, where he was employed in the oil business for nearly fifty years. He worked for Delta Drilling of Odessa, and Oceanic Oil of Midland, prior to working for Robinson Drilling of Big Spring, where he served as general manager. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the Rotary Club. Services were held Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m., in Nally-Pickle Rosewood Chapel, with Dr. Kenneth Patrick, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Big Spring, officiating. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Park. Survivors include his widow, Josie Miller; two sons, James D. Miller of Colorado City, and Joe D. Miller of Midland; two sisters, Gladys Sibley of Negreet, and Marie Autrey of Converse; and one grandson, Bruce Miller of Midland.
