He was 81. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 7, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Many. The Rev. Joe Ratcliff, church pastor, and the Rev. H. H. Tibbits officiated. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Floyd Lopez, Reo Wright, Hosea Ebarb, Horace Maxey, Ben Firesheets, Marquette Gore, Coleman Sibley, and Joe Koss. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Thelma Alford Miller of Many; one daughter, Mrs. Mary McCollister of Shreveport; two sisters, Gladys Taylor of Anacoco, and Joy Vaco of Florien; one brother, Grover Miller of New Iberia; two grandsons, and one grand daughter-in-law.
