All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Stafford Allen Miller 19 Dec 1990 - Friends and family of 17 year old Stafford Allen Miller, a senior at Negreet High School, paid their final respects to the young man during funeral services at the Antioch Baptist Church Monday, December 17 at 2 p.m. Miller was killed Saturday night, December 15 in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy 474 near Negreet. According to reports from Louisiana State Policeman James Napier and Lee Raymond Isgitt, Miller was traveling south on Hwy 476 when he crossed the center lane and struck two trees in his 1989 Isuzu pickup. The vehicle traveled another 39 feet before coming to rest in the northbound lane of Hwy 476. The Jaws of Life were used to free young Miller from the wreckage. He was killed instantly. Miller was by himself in the vehicle. The Revs. Jimmie Evans and Bill Murphy conducted the service with burial following in the Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were his friends, Truman Dees, Brian Guay, Tony McComic, Buddy Veulamen, Clint Branam, Clint Corley, Cass Fazzio and Roger Savell. Well liked among the Negreet High School student body, Miller was known as "Bubba". He was active in the Negreet Chapter of the Future Farmers of America, where he was serving as reporter. He had been a member of several judging teams over the years, including the livestock Judging Team. During his freshman year he was a member of the NHS basketball team. More recently, he spent his spare time hunting, fishing, weight-lifting, and horseback riding. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stafford Miller of Florien; his twin sister, Stephanie; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Aaron and Juanita Mitchell and Lamar and Lynette Mitchell; maternal grandmother, Nannette Wilson, of Florien; and several nieces and nephews.
