Miller, 62, 1417 9th St., SW, died Tuesday, in his home. His funeral was held Friday, at 10:30 a.m., in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with burial in Rosehill Memorial Park, both in Minot. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with a vigil prayer service at 6 p.m., in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. He was born March 9, 1930, at Orrin, to Christ and Kathryn Miller. He grew up in Towner, and in 1945, moved to Minot with his family. He graduated from Minot High School in 1950. He enlisted in the Army Oct. 11, 1951, and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was assigned to the Army Motor Pool. He was discharged Sept. 23, 1953, and then returned to Minot, where he was a mechanic/attendant at Smitty's Westland, where he also worked, before going into the service. He married Madeline Schiff, May 31, 1955, in Minot. He became associated with Westlie Motor Co., as a mechanic, and remained with them until 1970. He then operated the Big "2" Truck Stop in east Minot, where he remained with them until 1974. He then established George's Auto Repair, Minot, which he owned until 1981. In 1982, he was co-owner of A-1 Transmission, and remained with them until ill health forced his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Eagles Aerie, Elks Lodge, the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion. Survivors are his wife, daughters, Susan Pederson, Marilyn Haider, Trina Chaska, all of Minot, Teresa Possen, Burlington; six grandchildren; mother, Kathryn Bray, Many; brothers, Edward, Minot, Leo Cypress, Calif., Jerome, Phoenix; sisters, Angeline Krueger, Arvada, Colo., Ida Bray, Shreveport.
