He was a native of Ft. Jesup, and lived in Shreveport since 1928. He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Many, and from Draughon Business College in Shreveport. He was employed by southwestern Electric Power Company for 48 years, where he was chief clerk, and office supervisor at Arsenal Hill Plant. He was interested in sports, and managed the softball team for his company in his early years there. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mollie and Alert Miller; three sisters; and two brothers. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Ora Belle Burnham Miller; a stepdaughter, Billie McCalla Tigner and her husband James T. Tigner Jr. of Granoury, Tex.; four step grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren. Also he is survived by three sisters, Eunice Miller, Iva Miller, and Lois Rivers, all of Many; several nieces and nephews; and two aunts. Services were held at Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport, Monday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m., with interment in Forest Park Cemetery. Officiating the services were Rev. Albert Hoyer, pastor of Dunlap Presbyterian Church, and Rev. James T. Tigner Jr. Pallbearers were James T. Tigner III, Robert Lee Tigner, Lt. Col. Jimmie Giles, Albert Burnham, Bill Manhein, and Carol Williams. Honorary pallbearer was Robert Denton.
