Miller, 18, of Florien was killed instantly in a one car accident, which occurred at 1:22 a.m., Sunday, about two miles north of Anacoco, in U. S. Highway 171. According to investigating officers from Troop H, Louisiana State Police, young Miller was driving north at an apparent excessive rate of speed, and failed to negotiate a curve. He ran off the right shoulder of the road, zig-zagged back and forth, and finally overturned down a steep embankment on the left side of the road. The car fell approximately 50 feet, and landed against a pine tree. Dr. S. J. Jones, Vernon Parish Coroner, pronounced Miller dead at the scene. His passenger, Charles C. Corley, 28, also of Florien, was injured and taken to a Many hospital.
