J. Miller Sr. home near Ft. Jesup Monday, Nov. 12, at 5:18 p.m., to investigate the apparent suicide of his son, Jason. Sheriff's Deputies Jack Napier and Jimmy Ray Pleasant answered the call, arriving at the scene at 5:40 p.m., where they found Jason Miller in the yard, at the north end of the porch. The bullet from a .25 automatic, had entered his mouth, and came out behind his left ear. C. J. Miller Sr. said he thought he had heard two shots. Jason Miller was rushed to Fraser Hospital, and later to a Shreveport hospital, where he died at 1:22 a.m., Tuesday. Miller is survived by one son, Walter Ray Miller of Many; three daughters, Sharon Miller, Wanda Kay Miller, and Patricia Miller, all of Many; his father, Clarence J. Miller; three brothers, C. J. Miller, Douglas Miller, both of Many, and Leroy Miller of Robeline; four sisters, Thelma Gray of Shreveport, Norale Miner of Lone Star, Tex., Alice Williams of Conroe, Tex., and Freddie Jean Leggett of Houston, Tex. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 3 p.m., in the Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnny Rhodes, and Rev. Glen Lanier officiating. Burial was at the Miller Cemetery.
