He was a member of the National Guard, and later owned and operated the Esso Station in Robeline. He retired in 1995, as a truck driver with Ferrell Gas. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Aug. 25, in the Blanchard-St. Denis Chapel, with interment following at Fort Jesup Cemetery. The Revs. Glenn Flenniken, J. D. McNeal, and Jerry Penfield officiated. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jo Evelyn "Dolly" Cotton Miller; three sons, Gary Miller of Robeline, Michael Miller of Groveton, Texas, and Patrick Miller of Natchitoches; four daughters, Vickie Miller, Peggy Johnson, Lisa Broadway, and Heather Miller, all of Robeline; one brother, Douglas Miller of Fort Jesup; four sisters, Thelma Lee Gray of Keithville, Norale Miner of Lone Star, Texas, Alice Williams of Willis, Texas, and Freddie Jean Leggett of Livingston, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence J. Miller Sr., and Laura Carnline Miller; two brothers, Clarence J. Miller Jr., and Jason Miller; daughter-in-law, Ginger Miller; and nephews, Dennis Lester, and Tommy Miner Jr. Pallbearers were Johnny Miller, Joey Miller, Glenn Leggett, Bart Cotton, Mike Birdwell, Stanley Woodel, Jackie Cotton, and Billy Weeks. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Rhodes, John Rushing, and Floyd Rachal.
