Mains 13 Jul 1956 - Funeral services for Hoyt W. Mains, 45, member of a pioneer Sabine Parish family, was held at 2 p.m. Sunday July 8, at First Baptist church of Many, with the Rev. Pratt McCloud of First Church, Westlake, officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. H. Ricks, Florien and the Rev. W. H. Rose, pastor, Many First Baptist church. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery. Mr. Mains died Friday in Houma, of a heart attack. He was born and reared in Many. He was a graduate of the Many High School. Had been employed by the Texas Company of Houma, for 21 years. Surviving include the widow, Mrs. Eunice Davis Mains, one son, Hoyt Mains, Jr., his father, Lee Mains, six brothers, F. F. Mains, Bossier City; Leva Mains, Beaumont; Roy L. Mains, Many; Dawson Mains; New Iberia; Ellzey Mains, Pleasant Hill; Hubert Mains, New Iberia; four sisters, Mrs. C. L. Hillman, DeRidder; Mrs. D. A. Scaife, Many; Mrs. Lawrence Hogan, Lake Charles and Mrs. Eddie Carroll, Los Angeles, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were employees of the Texas Co.
