All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Vernice Cutrer Mims Mrs. Vernice Cutrer Mims, a native and lifelong resident of Sabine Parish, died on Wednesday, July 23, 1985, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Mrs. Mims taught school in the parish school system for more than 30 years. Mrs. Mims was a graduate of Northwestern University, and received her masters from Steven F. Austin. She is survived by a son, Dr. Ted Mims of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, James Alan Fullerton of Many, Holley Anne Mims, and Jonathan Lee Mims of Baton Rouge; a great grandson, James Cory Fullerton of Many; and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Elliott, and Mrs. Verlyn Sanders, both of Many. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. A. Mims, and daughter, Marilyn Mims Williams. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 25, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Many, with interment at Fort Jesup Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wingate Dowden, George Elliott, W. E. Hayes, John Patton, Bernie Lee Tabor, and Melvin Wright. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society, or other charitable organizations.
