All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Effie Mae Lum Monk Funeral services for Effie Mae Lum Monk of Logansport, were held Monday, Sept. 23, 1996, at 3 p.m., at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport. Officiating was Elder Luster Melton of Joaquin, Tex. Interment was at the Union Springs Cemetery in Converse, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Logansport, Tex. Mrs. Monk passed away Sunday morning in Center, Tex., following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of DeSoto Parish, a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. N. S. Monk Jr.; two daughters, Marie Monk Nunley, and Ola Janet Presswood. She is survived by three children, Dorothy M. Clark and husband Brady of Center, Tex., Billy Earl Monk and wife Bonnie of Shreveport, Elizabeth Ann Baack and husband Richard of Bossier City; a sister, Ovada Lum Langford of Logansport; eight grandchildren, Linda Marie Poindexter of Shreveport, Johnny Leon Nunley, also of Shreveport, Ola Janice Miller of Groves, Tex., Michael Dwayne Presswood of Center, Tex., Angela Kay McCaa of College Station, Tex., Alan Blain Clark of Center, Tex., Kevin Lane Monk of Shreveport, and Kimberly Kaye Johnson of Shreveport; 15 great grandchildren, Susan, Lisa, Brandon, Sheila, John David, Chant, William, Collin, Heath, Michael, Dean, Candace, Bronson, Danny, Marisa, and Luke; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Johnny Leon Nunley, Alan Blain Clark, Chant Brandon Clark, Michael Dwayne Presswood, Heath Martin Presswood, and Kevin Lane Monk. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Leon Nunley, Brady Clark, Richard Baack, Jerry McCaa, David Johnson, and W. L. Presswood.
