Irie Estelle Maines

  Funeral services for Irie Estelle Maines, 88, of Florien, were
held Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at 2 p.m., at Florien First Baptist
Church. Officiating was Rev. Delman Rogers, and Rev. Brett
McCleary. Interment was at Ebenezer Cemetery, under the direction
of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mrs. Maines died Sunday, Dec. 29, at Integrated Health Services
of Many.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark M. Maines; and a
son, Huey Lee Maines.

  Mrs. Maines is survived by four children, Trenice M. Maines and
wife, Hazel of Many, Janice Carolyn Weir and husband Wayne of
Shreveport, Kenneth Dariel Maines and wife Virginia of Florien,
and Edith Marie Maines of Leesville; one sister, Delphine Mixon
of Shreveport; one brother, Claude Daniel Mahaffey of Bossier
City; 12 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; a host of nieces,
nephews, and close friends.

  Pallbearers were Norman Weir, Paul Weir, Kevin Weir, Mark
Maines, Richard Rushing, and Rickey Cauthen.

  Honorary pallbearers were Chuck Johnson, Buster Gordy, Greg
Young, A. J. Chance, and Wilton Chance.
