Mims, 65, of Many, died March 12, at 7:30 a.m., at the Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Many, March 15, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Perry Lassiter officiating. Burial was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Vernice Cutren Mims of Many; one son, Merrill Ted Mims of Crowley; one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Fullerton of Many; five brothers, Roy Mims of Bossier City, John, and W. C. Mims, both of Lake Charles, the Rev. Cecil Mims of Pine Grove, and Herman Mims of Jasper, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Cushing, Mrs. Irene McCain, and Mrs. W. A. Rains, all of San Antonio, Tex., and Mrs. Mary Cooper of DeRidder; and one grandson. Pallbearers were Harvey Arthur, Woodrow Salter, Loran Ebarb, John Patton, Clark Pouncey, Wiley Cummings, W. E. Hayes, and Doss Huff.
