All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Joseph Deus "Jay D" Monceaux Funeral services were held Friday, April 6, at 10:30 a.m., in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Joseph Deus "Jay D" Monceaux, 72, who died Tuesday, April 4 in Bunkie. Survivors include his widow, Marguerite Boudreaux Monceaux of Rayne; two sons, Terry and his wife, Norma Monceaux of Crowley, and Dr. Darryl Monceaux of Okinawa, Japan; three daughters, Angela and her husband, Bob St. Dizier of Rayne, Catherine Monceaux of Boca Raton, Fla., and Cynthia and her husband, Butch Abshire of Rayne; one brother, John "Tat" and his wife, B. J. Monceaux of Morse; three sisters, Velma Pam Hoffpauir of Lake Arthur, Joyce Alleman, and her husband Dalfred of Rayne, and Rita Monceaux of Rayne. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Shelly Havlik of Dublin Calif., Sara Dell Aguillard of New Roads, Monique Porter, and Michael Monceaux of Dallas, Texas, Neal B. Guidry of Lafayette, and Justin, Ashley, and Andrew Abshire of Rayne; and two great grandchildren, Makaela Porter of Dallas, Texas, and Jack Havlik of Dublin, Calif. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Deus and Margaret LeBlanc Monceaux; one brother, George Monceaux, and a sister, Willie Mae Dronett. Jay D. graduated was valdectorian of his class at Rayne High School, served in the Navy for two years, and attended photography school in Houston for two years. He was a professional photographer for 20 years, in addition to farming rice and crawfish on the family farm. Jay D. also was a land developer at Toledo Bend, a place that he loved dearly. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, and was a past commande4r of American Legion Post 77 in Rayne. Gossen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
