All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index Mrs. Maggie Evans Monts - February 11, 1988 Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie "Shorty" Evans Monts, 69, of Jennings, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Miguez Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Dobson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Jennings officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery of Jennings. Mrs. Monts died at 12:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 1988 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. A native of Sabine Parish, she had lived in Jennings for 1 1/2 years, moving there from Lake Charles. Survivors include her husband, Robert "Blackie" Monts of Jennings; one daughter, Mrs. Bud "Louise" Weldon of Hathaway; one son, R. L. Ritter of Dallas, Tx.; two sisters, Ms. Eva Tate of Pineland, Tx. and Mrs. Myrtle Speight of Brunson, Tx.; six grandchidlren and three great grandchildren.
