Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel, with interment following at Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Mansfield. The Rev. Jamison May, husband of granddaughter, Stacey May of Truman, Ark., officiated. Mrs. Murray was a homemaker. She was born in Natchitoches, and was a former resident of Texarkana, Texas, and had resided in Joaquin, Texas for four years. Survivors include her husband, Earnest Murray of Joaquin, Texas; sister, LaVerne Beal of Shreveport; daughters, Myra Griffing and husband Ron of Shreveport, Janice Ducey and husband James of Gloster, and Sandra Malmay and husband Doug of Zwolle; stepchildren, Charles D. Long of Houston, Texas, Tina Lafitte and husband Jerry of Grand Cane, Dwight Murray and wife Carol of Joaquin, Texas, B. J. Sullivan of Haughton, and Sammy Murray and wife Barbara of Grand Cane; 30 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lelia LeLemoine. Pallbearers were James Ducey, Jason Briggs, Bryan Strickland, Les Strickland, Douglas Long, and Dennis Long. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Massengill and staff with Highland Hospital of Shreveport, Heritage Manor South, and friends and family, for their love and support.
